SKETCHES
This is a sketch plan of how my front page is going to look like. I'm going to have the mast head on top. the font will be black with red background. the page will have a main image of my model with white background. the will be texts behind and front of the image. At bottom of the page i will have the date and bar-code.
This is a sketch of the double page spread. I'm going to use just one image. I ll add texts in columns. The text is going to be white , this will work well with the black background/image. I will also include interview of the band at the bottom as seen in the picture below.
This is the contents page. this is going to be simple. at the top there will be the title. There's going to be 3 images on this page. I ll add texts to each image. on the right side of the page I have 'featuring'.
Good magazine front covers
This magazine is very attractive and would perfectly fit my chosen genre as its very colourful and vibrant. the colour scheme is very bright and colourful giving the magazine an indian feeling. The front cover of this magazine consists of a woman(M.I.A) looking directly at the camera; this indicates that the she is trying to establish a relationship or connection with the reader.i will use direct dress of mode in my magazine to create this effect. The background of this front cover is colourful( pastel colours) however in the middle the colour format becomes a brighter and bolder, which makes this cover have a more warmth feeling.Behind the women is the 'CLASH' master head and in front of her lies few cover lines in white. the white font works very well with the red background and is very clear to read. The woman’s name (M.I.A) is bigger and bolder than the rest of the text this emphasises the importance of the model/musician. the costume is not very clear but looks very colourful and looks like it has lots of patterns , representing the indian culture as Bollywood is very well known for its colour and patterns. i will be using this magazine as an inspiration to create my own. i will probably use similar colour scheme and style of font.
These two magazines are also very colourful and attractive. The billboard masthead is bold and big. With coloured in letter, this instantly makes it recognisable as a logo. Billboard's masthead is simple . The font is clear and easy to read, the colour used for the masthead is black Sans Serif font, with the inside of the letters A and D coloured in blue and yellow adding more excitement to the cover.i will be using these colours and font on my cover .i will also be using similar colour scheme.in the second cover Beyonce's clothing colour matches the background of the cover. Her makeup also blends in with the theme . The colours do not clash. As i am going to be using lots of different colours on my page, i need to make sure that the colours i use do not clash.

RESEARCH
- They use other forms of performance art such as playing an instrument, singing and dancing (this is used excessively and is most easily the story noticed)
- The presence of a religious figure that all the characters believe in, such as a God or Deity.
- Romance is the main plot or subplot in the songs.
RENAMING THE MAGAZINE
After asking my target audience and my media teacher I've decided to change the name of the magazine. The name sangeet is a quit boring and over used so I have decided to change the name to something different and creative. Here is the list of names I've chosen to use as the name of my magazine

music.
Avirbhav - Avirbhav is that technique of presenting the
raga, in which the raga is noticeably expanded and exhibited
Anuvadi - Those notes of a raga that are neither highlighted
nor downplayed are known as Anuvadi notes.

Classical Music.

MAGAZINE COVER ANALYSIS
MEN'S HEALTH
MAGAZINE
The masthead of this magazine is written in lower case and is a red font to show its simplicity. The name also gives an ideaof the target audience of the magazine which is clearly men. The cover lines clearly shows that the magazine is suited for men as it addresses different types of health tips which may be useful for men. 'STOP EXCUSAS' is a mode of address and is written in block capitals and is also highlighted. This makes it seem as if they are directly shouting at the men which are looking at the cover to encourage them to workout. Another mode of address is the man used on the front cover, which is leo rico . He is looking straight at the camera smiling.he has his top off this shows the audience how their body can change if they do what they are told on the magazine(exercise) and be as confident as him.if they had out of shape man the audience may not take the magazine seriously .'him having a ripped body also relates to mens health and portrays the ideal men body. It also makes the magazine seem like men have to look a certain way which is to have abs and that it would instantly make them sexually attractive.
WOMEN FASHION MAGAZINE
The masthead of this mazagine is blue but its written in capital letters. This connotation makes the cover look much more sophisticated and the fact that it is blue gives it a more classic and chic feel. One of the coverlines for Fashion magazine
is 'BEST BEAUTY INVESTMENTS' which is clearly aimed for women as stereotypically, women love 'Fashion' and looking at the new trends, so it fits perfectly with their needs. On this front cover, Miley cyrus is being used as the model and she looks perfect and airbrushed. She is wearing a black dress which is revealing, she isn't fully clothed, but still looks. Her hair is neat and makeup is very bold and sharp, which suggests that women are not just sex objects even if they aren't covered up properly, they can still look elegant and fashionable rather than trashy.

INSPIRATIONS
When looking at magazine covers these are the ones I felt most connected to. As they are all unique. For example the HI BLITZ magazine COVER with Shilpa Shetty looks very traditional and being one of the greatest Bollywood icons as well as in Hollywood, appeals more to me and others too. Her confidence is clearly reflective in her posture which inspires me because this quality of looking bold and confident is what I would like to see in my models. Another example of professional looking magazine cover is 'Hello!' This is yet another extremely accustomed photo-shoot which truly brings out the Indian culture. The fact that the whole outfit is presented on the cover makes the cover more appealing and attractive to look at- relatable to my target audience. One criteria for my target audience is family involvement and this magazine fulfils this requirement as the image is of mother and daughter.

GENRE
I have decided to base my music magazine around the Indian culture. I have done a research on Indian music. The biggest form of Indian Popular music is songs from Indian films, it makes up 72% of the music sales in India.[4]The film industry of India supported music by according reverence to classical music while utilizing the western orchestration to support Indian melodies.Indian music originated through religion and belief. Hindu has had a big influence on the music in India. Through history it has developed and people of that society have created sub genres within one genre. Folk music, pop and Indian classical music which has sub genres: Hindustani music and Carnatic.
Folk music:Folk music is different due to the string instruments used. Before there would be drums and bells however, now it involved much more modern instruments such as violin and guitars etc.
Pop music:Pop is referred to popular music. This type of music is more common among younger generations. This type of music has and r&B twist to it where it is mixed and produced to sound more engineered and has bass and features more artificial sounds than natural.
Hindustani music:This is more of classical Indian music which goes back hundreds of centuries. This type of music was more common in Hindu dominated parts of India. People would sing to the gods and dance around to this type of music.
Carnatic music:This type of music is combined with voices and is more focused on the art of a singer’s voice alongside the sound of instruments.
Common types of instruments are flutes and drums (DHOL)

While doing my research I've noticed that most Indian magazines are based around fashion and Bollywood (cinema/film).I will be looking more into the idea of an Indian music magazine and how it will best suit the needs of the target audience.

THE MAKING.....
Here is how i started. well first i opened photo shop ( blank A4 page ) then i had to adjust my main image so that i have enough space for the masthead and headlines. then i edited the the name of the magazine.i used black and white writing color because i wanted my student model to be the main focus and i didn't want the front cover to look colorful,i wanted it to look simple but catchy.
then all i did is add a bar code at the end of the page and add text. The barcode helps to show the audience that it is a magazine. i used color boxes to make sure the texts are visible and stand out so that the reader can clearly see what the magazine contains.I made sure that the texts are inline and looks good.
TOP 3 IMAGES CHOSEN FOR FROINT COVER
Here the image looks large and my model is the main attention this attracts the customer they can clearly see she is a students as she has an exercise book and a pen. the image is direct mode of address my model is looking directly at the camera. the direct gaze helps stimulate interaction with each individual reader
This image is taken LOW ANGLE. The angle makes my model look more powerful and confident .I feel this image is appropriate for a school magazine the model is holding a notepad , however i wish i used a brighter lighting , I ll make sure to make it more brighter when editing, hopefully through editing i can make the image look better.
I wanted to take a image of students working together to show knowledge being shared between students, this image was taken candid snapshot, i thought it was better to take it this ay because i didn't want the image to look forced and unrealistic.
