MAKING OF THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

today we started creating out double page spread. Here is how i started making my double page spread. the first thing I did was open a new page on Photoshop. WIDTH 17.25 inches and HEIGHT 11.25 inches

i then added my image on the page and adjust the size of it so that it fits my page . here is how it looks currently ( image above)

after adding the picture i decided to edit the image a little bit because the original image looks quite dark and the lighting is not good. the background was not visible as well so I decided to change the lighting and contrast so that the image stands out more and looks more attractive. I also corrected the colour. My models looked really good so I didn't need to airbrush them or edit their looks.

i then started to add text to the page and position the text in the right place so that its visible and easy to read. i used  white text colour because it contrasts with the dark background colour thus making it stand out more. i used ARIAL font because  it is very simple and easy to read.  i decided to curve the text around my model.

I then added title to the page and change the colour to yellow. i chose yellow because yellow colour runs throughout my other 2 pages. I wanted to use similar colour scheme throughout my product so that the audiences know that all three pages belong to one magazine. I also added interview of the band at the bottom. the text was not visible so  I added a yellow box behind it and change the capacity to 50% so that the main image is still visible through the coloured box. i decided to add a coloured box because the page seemed quit dark so as it was an Indian magazine i wanted to add some colour to it.
